Submit your nominations for the BSAVA Awards

The prestigious BSAVA Awards recognise outstanding contributions in the small animal veterinary profession. The Awards Committee will meet in October to consider nominations for the next BSAVA Awards, which will be presented during the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 5th April 2018 at Congress.
The Awards Committee cannot make nominations but relies on the BSAVA membership putting forward names for consideration. So why not take a few minutes to talk to your friends and colleagues and submit your online award nominations now? You can nominate more than one person and for more than one award but, with the exception of the Frank Beattie Travel Scholarship, you cannot nominate yourself.
We are also awarding a £2,000 travel scholarship to one deserving BSAVA member. The scholarship is for a trip abroad to study a particular aspect of veterinary practice. This award is self-nomination only.

BSAVA Award Categories
CLINICAL
Bourgelat Award – For really outstanding international contributions to the fields of small animal practice or science in their widest context by a qualified veterinarian.
Woodrow Award – For contributions to the advancement of small animal medicine in its widest context by a qualified veterinarian.
Simon Award – For contributions to the advancement of all small animal surgery in its widest context by a qualified veterinarian.
PetSavers Award – For contributions to clinical aspects of small animal practice in its widest context by a qualified veterinarian.
TEACHING
Amoroso Award – For contributions to undergraduate teaching of small animal studies (preclinical or clinical) in its widest context by a qualified veterinarian.
SCIENTIFIC
Blaine Award – For contributions to the advancement of small animal science in its widest context by a qualified veterinarian.
WELFARE
J.A. Wight Award – For a qualified veterinarian who has made an outstanding contribution to the welfare of companion animals in its widest context.
Ray Butcher Award – For an individual who has been an ‘unsung hero’ by making a significant contribution to animal welfare in the community.
Bruce Vivash Jones Award – For outstanding contributions to the advancement of small animal veterinary nursing.
The Frank Beattie Travel Scholarship
