Supporting PetSavers

If, like us, your pets hold a special place in your heart, then you’ll know how tough it can be when they’re ill. BSAVA PetSavers is on a mission to fund research that improves the health and wellbeing of a range of our companion animals.

Whilst the findings of many of our research projects provide veterinary professionals with the knowledge they need to treat diseases affecting pets, we have also funded work which supports owners like you to look after beloved furry friends.

Our Old Age Pets Project, carried out at the University of Liverpool, aimed to help both vets and owners provide the best care for senior dogs. The checklist and toolkit developed during the project helps owners to identify possible differences between ‘normal’ signs of aging and crucial indicators of disease. How you can support PetSavers

Don’t forget to Gift Aid: Gift Aid is a government initiative that allows charities to reclaim the basic rate tax that UK taxpayers have already paid on their donations. So for every £1 you give, we can claim the tax back as an additional 25p, making your donations go further – at no extra cost to you! The option to Gift Aid is included for donations made using our online donation portal. Alternatively, if you are donating in another way, complete our online Gift Aid form.

Donate whilst shopping

You can support PetSavers at no extra cost to you when you shop using the websites Easyfundraising and Give As You Live. Partnered with thousands of your favourite brands, these sites allow you to buy groceries, clothes and day-to-day essentials with your favourite high street retailers, and they’ll donate a portion of everything you spend to charity. Fundraising

We’re grateful for your interest in fundraising for us – every penny you raise enables PetSavers to fund more vital research into the health of our pets. Whether you’re collecting sponsorship or selling tickets, there are loads of ways for you to get involved in fundraising:

Get active solo or with friends by doing a sponsored swim, cycle, or fitness challenge.
Organise something social, like a charity dog walk, cake sale or picnic in the park.
Push yourself to try something daring like a skydive, bungee jump or zip wire challenge.

Fundraising Tools.

If you’re looking for an adventure and the chance to get in shape, discover stunning countryside trails, and an amazing sense of achievement, then an Ultra Challenge® is for you. You don’t need to be a budding elite athlete to participate: walk, run or jog at your pace along one of 19 10km, 25km, 50km, 75km, or 100km Ultra Challenges in 2025! Pay tribute to the life of a beloved pet

Many of us describe our pets as a member of the family, and we understand how difficult it can be to lose them. Donating to veterinary research is an incredible way of leaving a lasting legacy in the name of your beloved pet, helping animals of the future to live longer, fuller, and healthier lives. To celebrate your pet’s life, we invite you to use this space to create a personalised tribute that you can visit whenever you want to cherish their memory.

In return for a donation to us of £10 or more using this link, we will create a page dedicated to your pet, full of the memories you would like to share. To set up a tribute page, contact us at petsaversadmin@bsava.com with your pet’s name, a photograph, a short description of their life (max. 250 words) and your donation payment ID. You may also want to encourage friends and family to fundraise in their name by following this link to set up a JustGiving fundraising page.
