News from FECAVA: Standing united on healthy breeding

2 July 2018

A position paper on healthy breeding was adopted by the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA) and the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) at the FVE meeting in Bergen, Norway, last month.

The paper includes recommendations for all stakeholders, with vets being asked to advise pet owners and future pet owners, to report any corrective surgery, to avoid routine caesarians and, in particular, not to ‘normalise’ extreme breeding traits such as snoring.
