BSAVA/VPIS Guide to Common Canine and Feline Poisons now available on the BSAVA app

We’re pleased to announce that we have added the BSAVA/VPIS Guide to Common Canine and Feline Poisons to the BSAVA app for members to access. The Guide is a long-standing collaboration between the BSAVA and the Veterinary Poisons Information Service (VPIS) that provides concise information on the commonly encountered toxic substances that can lead to poisoning of dogs and cats, together with an indication of urgency and prognosis.

There are 150 monographs, each giving information on toxicology, clinical effects, appropriate first aid and subsequent management and prognosis. This is to enable veterinary surgeons and their staff to give appropriate guidance to clients that suspect their animals may have been poisoned.

The Guide replaces and expands the poisons information previously available on the app and adds to the essential tools for daily practice that the app provides. The BSAVA app content is exclusively available to BSAVA members. The Guide remains available for purchase as a printed book and online via the BSAVA Library.
