BSAVA book offers for July

8 July 2020

To coincide with the latest issue of Companion, we are offering a £10 discount off the Manual of Canine and Feline Shelter Medicine and Manual of Canine and Feline Emergency and Critical Care throughout July.

The BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Shelter Medicine provides useful practical information for veterinary professionals who work with shelters, whether it be in private practice or in a charity setting. It will help enable small animal practitioners to deliver high quality, evidence-based pragmatic care whatever the budget and circumstances, and will also introduce the reader to a new way of thinking when approaching cases in a shelter environment.

In the July issue of Companion, Jenny Stavisky, editor of the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Shelter Medicine explores how some of the principles and practices of shelter medicine may be useful, both in the short and longer term, as new challenges brought about by the coronavirus pandemic are faced by veterinary practices and their clients.

Emergency care is one of the most important areas of veterinary medicine. The BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Emergency and Critical Care reflects the continued growth in knowledge and understanding in this crucial area, whilst remaining a highly practical resource.

In the latest issue of Companion, Kerry Rolph of Ross University, St Kitts, highlights how to approach heat stroke in dogs and reminds readers that it is not solely due to being left in hot cars but can also be induced by exercise. The associated collection in the BSAVA Library draws together resources to help achieve successful results in managing this condition that carries a guarded prognosis.

We are also offering a £10 discount on the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Behavioural Medicine to coincide with a new collection in the BSAVA Library. This collection has been created amid warnings that the COVID-19 lockdown period may lead to a rise in behavioural issues such as separation anxiety. This short collection draws together some of our existing content relating to the prevention, management and treatment of behavioural problems in cats and dogs.
