Every module is built to be inspiring, practical, and academically robust, helping you apply new knowledge directly to your work while ensuring your learning is supported, structured, and professionally relevant.

Yes. Each time you complete a module within LUMOS, you’ll earn a digital badge that’s specific to the module you’ve finished. These badges help you track your progress and showcase your growing expertise.

Different points will be accumulated, dependent on the level of module you complete:

Level 1 module = 5 points

Level 2 module = 10 points

Level 3 module = 15 points

As you work through your personalised learning pathway, your achievements build towards a BSAVA Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award. Every stage of your journey is recognised, giving you clear evidence of your ongoing professional development and a meaningful way to demonstrate your skills as you advance.

To achieve your BSAVA Bronze, Silver or Gold Award you must complete the following:

Bronze Award – 20 points required, plus 1 core skills module

Silver Award – 60 points required, plus 2 core skills modules

Gold Award – 120 points, plus 3 core skills modules

Core skills do not accumulate points, but they are mandatory to complete.

Yes. When you begin each module, you’ll gain access to an online community of fellow veterinary professionals who are learning alongside you. It’s a space where you can ask questions, share experiences, discuss cases and insights, and deepen your understanding through wider professional perspectives.

You’ll also have the support of the BSAVA team throughout your learning. If you have any questions about your course, need additional information, or experience any difficulties, our team is here to help.

You’ll have up to six months to complete your LUMOS module This flexible study window is designed to support busy veterinary professionals, giving you the time and space to work through the learning materials at a pace that suits your clinical and personal commitments.

Your access period includes all teaching content, activities, assessments and community discussions, ensuring you can fully engage with the course and complete it comfortably within the allocated timeframe.

If you experience unexpected circumstances that may affect your ability to finish within six months, please contact the BSAVA team as early as possible so we can discuss the support options available.

Yes. Paying BSAVA Members who are currently practising will receive a 25% discount on all LUMOS modules when booking.

The cost of LUMOS depends on the module or pathway you choose. Each module or programme is individually priced, allowing you to select the learning that best fits your goals, interests, and budget. Prices shown below reflect the standard fee per module, with access provided for the standard completion window unless otherwise stated.

Unless otherwise agreed by BSAVA, all payments must be made in GBP (£). BSAVA accepts payment via most major credit cards. Prices may be subject to change, and any applicable member discounts or promotional offers will be clearly displayed at the point of booking.

Yes. Your employer or practice can pay for your LUMOS module on your behalf. Many veterinary teams choose to fund CPD for their staff, and we welcome employer‑funded bookings.

Please note: Any financial arrangements between you and your employer, including reimbursement agreements, study time, or support during the course, are private matters. BSAVA is not able to manage, oversee, or take responsibility for contracts or commitments between employees and employers.
