The BSAVA launches new CPD platform, LUMOS

The BSAVA has today launched a new online learning experience for vets and veterinary nurses with their CPD programme, LUMOS.

Developed as part of the BSAVA’s evolving strategic plan, LUMOS represents a significant investment in high-quality learning experiences that better support veterinary professionals at every stage of their careers.

LUMOS delivers immersive, case-based learning through experience-led modules at Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Created and reviewed by qualified veterinary professionals, the programme is designed to reflect real clinical practice and support practical, day-to-day decision-making.

The flexible, modular format allows users to complete learning in short, manageable sessions – whether between consultations, during quieter periods, or as part of protected CPD time. Progress is automatically saved, enabling learners to pause and resume their training at any point without losing their place.

LUMOS also provides a clear framework for progression, with learners able to track their development through individual module completions and work towards BSAVA LUMOS Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

In addition, it introduces opportunities for peer interaction through community forums, allowing learners to share perspectives, discuss cases, and learn collaboratively.

LUMOS is available to all vets and veterinary nurses, with BSAVA members receiving a 25% discount on all modules. Pricing ranges from £75 to £400, depending on module level and audience.
