BSAVA partners with IDEXX to promote education within the veterinary profession

25 October 2021

BSAVA has partnered with IDEXX, a global leader in pet healthcare innovation, to provide a series of new learning resources for veterinary professionals in practice. The partnership enhances the BSAVA’s membership offering and demonstrates the shared commitment of both organisations to excellence in small animal veterinary education.

IDEXX’s experience of working closely with practices allows them to quickly identify topics the profession is dealing with. This, combined with BSAVA’s educational expertise, enables them to create a topical, monthly webinar, and to provide a relevant expert speaker and a dedicated online resource collection within the BSAVA library. IDEXX also offers a bursary scheme, including 10 places on a selected BSAVA course of choice.

Committed to advancing the standard of pet healthcare, IDEXX offers diagnostic and software products and services that empower practicing veterinarians around the world with solutions and insights. Ongoing education is a key component to ensuring veterinarians have solid confidence in their clinical decision making. As a result, the learning resources created in collaboration with IDEXX provide support for the veterinary practitioners at a time when they need it the most.

“Continuous learning is an essential part of veterinary clinic life and an area that is increasing in demand, particularly with so many new and innovative ways to engage,” said Dr Jason Johnson, Chief Medical Officer of IDEXX. “Education enables veterinary professionals to provide better care for their patients and we are delighted to support them through our collaboration with BSAVA.”

The first two ‘Topic of the month’ webinars will be on anaemia in cats and increased SDMA on pre-anaesthetic testing. These will be available free of charge to all BSAVA members.

Sarah Fitzpatrick, Head of Partnerships and Events at the BSAVA said: “We are thrilled to be working with IDEXX. It is increasingly important to us that our members receive accessible CPD, and through this valuable collaboration we are able to continue to support the veterinary profession.”

You can access the webinars through the BSAVA Library here.
