Avian Influenza Prevention Zones

From today (28 February) new Avian Influenza Prevention Zones come into force in England, Scotland and Wales.

All Poultry keepers (whether they have commercial flocks or just a few birds in a backyard flock) are required by law to take a range of biosecurity precautions to minimise the risk of infection from wild birds.

In Northern Ireland DAERA announced (20 January 2017) that the Avian Influenza Prevention Zone, originally declared on 23 December, will remain in force until 11:59pm on 16 March 2017.
