CMA publishes client research
17 December 2025
The CMA has published (16th December 2025) a qualitative consumer research report on consumer reactions to some of the CMA’s proposed consumer facing remedies. This research was commissioned ahead of the CMA’s PDR, meaning there are some differences in the details of the remedies explored in the research and those published in the PDR.
BSAVA is pleased to see that many of the points we made to the CMA as part of our joint response to the PDR consultation aligned with those made by clients in the Research findings. These included support for transparency around practice ownership and pricing but less so around satisfaction surveys, prescription defaults and also, the use of veterinary comparison websites and a pet health care plan calculator.
The context for this research, the research summary and Report are available as follows:
- Research background and summary (PDF, 163KB) (16.12.25)
- Consumer research final report (PDF, 1.6MB) (16.12.25)
CMA are inviting comments on the research which should be submitted to them by 5pm, 6th January 2026.
