14 April 2025

Returning to Glasgow on September 26th-27th, the BSAVA has today (14th April) opened Early Bird registration for BSAVA Alba 2025 with the launch of the full programme.

Taking place at Glasgow Crowne Plaza across two packed days, delegates will have the opportunity to gain up to 16 hours of CPD, explore a bustling exhibition with 20+ industry-leading exhibitors, and connect and network with colleagues and renowned speakers.

Designed by BSAVA’s Scottish Committee, the programme boasts eight different disciplines, covering a range of topics from ECC, Cardiology, Imaging, Nutrition, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology and Professional Development – all rounded off each day with discussion sessions to further explore how it all relates to real-world practice.

Programme highlights include:

  • Feline Otitis with speaker Debbie Gow – Covering the common causes of feline otitis using the PSPP system, including diagnosis and treatment.
  • Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation with speaker John Ryan – Considering indications, modalities, aims, benefits and limitations of physiotherapy in dogs and cats.
  • Critical Care Nutrition: Preventing Malnutrition in Veterinary Patients with speaker Georgia Woods-Lee – Exploring the vital role of nutrition in managing critically ill veterinary patients, with a focus on preventing malnutrition and supporting recovery.
  • Making ECGs Work for You with speaker Frane Ivasovic – This session aims to demystify this preconcept, and outlines the practical steps required to obtain a high-quality ECG recording, including correct lead placement, patient positioning and machine settings.

Amelia Brunt, Events Manager for BSAVA said: “Our Scottish Committee has worked incredibly hard to make this event accessible to vets and nurses within the profession, and this year’s BSAVA Alba has more hours of CPD on offer than before. Whether you’re local to Glasgow or are travelling to join us, this event promises to be a fantastic chance to gain some high-quality learning in a friendly and inclusive environment.”
