“When I became aware of a chance to incorporate a feline-focussed strand into my research on autoimmune encephalitis, I jumped at it. I have a strong commitment to the ‘One Health’ approach and the idea that vets and human medics can work together for the benefit of all species.” Read more about how Dr Sophie Binks’ research is raising awareness of potentially treatable causes of feline seizures in first opinion and referral practice.
“Our findings led to a change in how vets in practice treat hyperthyroid cats, including the more careful titration of anti-thyroid medications to avoid over-treatment and associated detrimental effects.” Read more about how Dr Tim Williams’ research shed light on previously unnoticed overtreatment symptoms in cats, and ultimately a change in the way vets in practice treat hyperthyroid cats.
